Previous: Chapter 10
It was the Monday after SNL aired and ever since Jimmy dropped me off at my house that night, I hadn’t talked to him.
Not a text, not a call… Nothing.
I was a little concerned but I just figured I’d see him on Monday.
I arrived at work on time and walked through the lobby till I reached my room with my desk. I saw that Carol wasn’t here yet. I walked in and all of the other interns looked at me and said nothing. It’s like there was something I didn’t know.
"What?!" I said to them. They all turned around and continued working. I was already in a bad mood and this was making me more mad.
I got over to my desk and there was a note sitting on my keyboard.
I set my things down and picked up the note. I opened it and read:
Please meet me in my office as soon as you read this. It’s urgent.
My heart skipped a beat as I read who it was from. Oh my gosh… Am I getting fired? I dropped the note on the floor and ran out of the office. I went into Miles’ office (who I’d become acquainted with through Jimmy). I walked up to his door and he was staring at his phone.
"Miles.. What’s going on?" He looked up at me and stood up from his desk. I knew he was really close with Jimmy and Lorne so he would know what’s going on.
"Am I getting fired?!" He put his hand on my arm and pulled me into the hallway.
"Just follow me…" My hands started to shake as he led me down the elevator to the SNL studio. We walked up to a door that said
Before he knocked on the door, he whispered, “it’s okay.. Just breathe.” He could tell I was on the verge of a breakdown. He knocked on the door and walked away.
I didn’t know what to do or say… My heart was racing and I couldn’t breathe.
The door opened and Lorne Michaels stood in front of me.. He was a lot shorter than I expected him to be..
"You must be Ms. Moody?" I managed to nod my head and he led me into his office. I looked at the room and saw Jimmy sitting in the chair in front of his desk.
Why was he here too?
"Please sit down.." He gestured to the chair next to Jimmy and he sat in the desk in front of us. I looked at Jimmy but he wouldn’t look at me. What did I do wrong?
"I would like to start this with one question.. Is there anything you two would like to tell me?" I looked over at Jimmy who was covering his face from me.. I looked up at Lorne and then back at Jimmy again. There was a strange silence that I wasn’t comfortable with.
"I’m sorry.." I interrupted the silence. "I don’t understand what’s going on.."
"Well, on Saturday night, I was backstage before the show and I saw you guys…. well…kiss… Multiple times.. Care to explain James?" He looked over at Jimmy who had his hands covering his face.
There was a silence before Jimmy said:
"Lorne, I’ve known you for a hell of a long time. And we’ve shared some great memories. I think of you as family.." He looked over at me but then his eyes shot over to Lorne. "I’ve shared my life with you, and I trust you… But THIS is none of your goddamn business." I looked from Lorne to Jimmy and then back to Lorne.
Lorne looked at me for a while then looked at Jimmy.
"I think it is my goddamn business when it effects people I care about." His voice got louder.
"Who the hell does it effect?!" Jimmy was getting more and more mad.
"Nancy, Winnie, your family! You also need to keep in kind that relationships between coworkers are strictly not allowed, not on my shows." Lorne stood shot out of his chair and I jumped back in my chair. "Scar would you please step out." Jimmy refused to look at me when he said that. I felt invisible, worthless.
I sneaked out of my chair and walked out the room.
I walked into the hallway and closed the door behind me.
I sat up against the wall next to the door and just quietly listened.
"Jimmy what the hell is going on with you?"
"What the hell is going on with me? What’s wrong with you? This is my life and I’m living it the way I choose to! And that stupid-ass "relationships between coworkers is not allowed" rule?! Since when the hell did that become a thing?! Look at Cecily and Mike! They’ve been dating for four months and I’ve never heard you bitch at them!"
"Well the rule exists and I won’t allow this, not in my shows."
"your show.??? YOUR SHOW?"
I’d never heard Jimmy scream like that. “You think Late night is your show? Late night with Jimmy Fallon? Huh? THIS IS MY FUCKING SHOW! I’ve worked so damn hard for this don’t you dare take this away from me. Hell, screw the show, I won’t let you take her away from me.”
"Man I don’t know what has gotten into you… Think about your family! If they found out-"
"Don’t you dare say anything to Nance.." I heard a shuffling of furniture and I got nervous.
"Jimmy, listen to me, dammit! I would never ever….. Is that girl really worth ruining your entire family? She’s just a girl, there are tons of them out there and you have two of the best ones already! You’re just acting so crazy… Is everything alright at home?"
"That has fucking nothing to do with it! Lorne… I don’t think you understand." I could tell he was trying to calm himself down. "I love that girl." There was a silence.
"I love my family too… More than anything in the entire world.. I need you to know that. They’re my life and I’d never do anything to hurt them. But… She’s not just some girl that works for me.. She’s so unique and smart.. She’s so special to me. Now, if you really care, you would back the fuck off and let me live my life!"
I heard footsteps and the door flew open.
"And this is MY SHOW! I will do whatever the hell I want, you’re no longer the boss of me, that ended when I quit SNL… I’m not some geeky, insecure twenty year old anymore! You cannot tell me what to do." I could hear him choking up.
"Jimmy!" I heard Lorne yell.
Jimmy ran out of the office and looked up and down the hallway looking for me. He made eye contact with me sitting there on the floor and he gave me the strangest look. He took a step towards me and said,
"Let’s go." He pulled me off the floor and we walked to his office.
It was one of the first times I’d ever walked next to him and not felt him hold my hand.. It was weird.
We got to his office and he closed the door behind us.
I wasn’t sure how to feel about the entire thing. I loved Jimmy, but I would never ever want to hurt him or his family…
I turned around and saw Jimmy rubbing his forehead. I walked over to him and just stood there in front of him. He slightly pushed me out of the way and walked over to his desk.
"I think you should just go home.." I looked up from the floor and I couldn’t believe he was just sending me away.
"I SAID GO HOME!" He looked up at me and there were tears in his eyes. Seeing him this way made my heart ache. I reached for my purse and walked towards the door. I turned around for one last word.
"Where does that leave us!?" I began to cry.
"Us…? He threw himself into his chair. "I just jeopardized my fucking job.."
"Hey, I didn’t ask you to do that…"
"WELL I DID, ok?!" His hands began to shake and I just tried to hold back the tears. "Ever since you started working here things have gone wrong…"
I was shocked and so sad. He didn’t love me… It was all a lie. I didn’t belong here anymore.. I didn’t belong with him anymore.
"Well I’m sorry for wasting your precious FUCKING time, Mr. Fallon." I reached into my purse and pulled out my LNWJF i.d. card and threw it onto his desk.
He looked up at me as if I’d just killed the last bit of him.
I turned around and walked out of his office.
"Wait- SCAR!" I could hear Jimmy’s footsteps getting closer and closer. I started to run down the hallway and the footsteps that I hoped would follow me, never did.
I ran into my office and fell onto the floor. I have never cried so hard in my life. Carol ran over to me and helped me off of the floor.
"Come with me, honey…" She dragged me towards the bathroom. Everyone in the hallway looked at me, I couldn’t stop sobbing.
I’m sure they thought someone died.
The bathroom door flew open and she locked it behind us.
"What’s wrong?! Scar, look at me!" I couldn’t even concentrate. There was so much pain in my heart.
"SCAR!" I was brought back to reality and I looked at her. "What’s wrong??"
"It’s—It’s over…" Was all I managed to say. She wrapped her arms around me and I cried into her.
"I’m never going to see it ever again" I said to my friend, Brooke.
“Well, what exactly happened?” She asked “Okay well, I got into the cab and the started driving me, and since I was late, I was unorganized I so I put my phone down, and then When I got there, I just got out of the cab and I completely forgot about it.”
“Oh man that sucks!” Brooke said in her high pitched voice for no reason. We laughed.
I had lost my phone, my iPhone in a Taxi Cab, and no way in hell I was going to get it back…
“That had all my fucking contacts in it.” I said annoyed as I sat on the couch with my hand behind my head, resting my head. As hard as a tried to remain serious, I cracked a smile because, I’m never angry, so the way Brooke looked at me made after I said that made me loose my anger.
I looked to the TV some Advertisement was playing but I didn’t really know what it was trying to sell, I just looked to the TV, I was watching it but I couldn’t hear the words, and the screen was just a blur to me.
“The worst part is, I gave my number to so many jobs, and now even if they were considering me…”
“Well why did you quit you’re old job in the first place?”
“I don’t know, I just walked into to work that day, not in the mood and It’s not like I hated working at ‘NY, NY, NY’ …”
“Yes you fucking did.” Brooke said, while she smiled.
“Anyways, I just didn’t want to do something I wasn’t proud of, for who knows how many years.”
“No! Helping Tourist find memories it clearly important.” Brooke said sarcastically. We chuckled
“It just seemed right at the moment, I guess not now, since I have no income. Sorry I am blabbering on.”
“I love you Gabby you can blabber about your work issues,” she paused as she got up off the couch and walked into the kitchen that wasn’t even 10 feet away, “Just don’t expect me to pay your half of the rent.” She said with a smile as she got a bowl out of the cupboard.
“Oh thanks I feel the love…” I said jokingly
Me and Brooke we’re roommates and friends for the past 15 years. One week ago I quit my job working at a Tourist shop. Me and Brooke lived in New York just around the city. I knew I was bound to have a job in the city, where people knew my name but sometimes it felt like it was never going to happen.
All of a sudden my thoughts were interrupted by the sound of Steve Higgens’s voice I jumped from excitement, it was Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.
“Shh” I said to Brooke even though she didn’t say anything
“But I didn’t say anything!” In her funny confused look.
I didn’t pay it any attention, to what she said. If anything could make me feel better it would be Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. I am a huge FalPal I love Jimmy Fallon, ever since he was on SNL.
“And here he is… Jimmy Fallon!” Higgens said through the screen and I freaked out, and giggled like a little school girl as I through myself back at the couch excitedly.
“No matter how many times I see that it’s still creepy…” Brooke said.
I gave her this look of evil but then laughed because, I couldn’t help it. I then put all my attention back into Jimmy.
“Oh shit don’t mess with a FalPal!” Brooke said with her bowl of Rice Krispies as she tried to move past the TV quickly, to get back to her seat.
Once she sat down I gave her a playful punch, we both laughed.
After Jimmy finished his monologue, he sat down at his desk, he then said who he was having on the show tonight, no one I knew but at least I could spend more time paying attention to Jimmy. I then heard Jimmy through the screen, ” So the craziest thing happened to me today.” I knew he was going to tell the audience I then leaned into the TV as if Jimmy was personally telling me a secret, or giving me the inside scoop.
“So today, I was on my way on to work, and I am a terrible, terrible driver” he said with a bigger smile, I smiled too. “So anyways I was in this cab and I found this phone.” He said as he got an iPhone off the back table, Brooke shot a look at me, Jimmy then started to show the phone, thousands of people loose their phones, it’s not mine don’t get your hopes up. I thought.
“And what’s weird is, when I turned on the phone to see who’s it is, and I swear, When I unblocked it…” he paused, as he unlocked it, ” was a picture of me.” He said as he smiled.
My jaw droped open, my eyes widened, that was my phone…
I woke up in Jimmy’s bed. I was happy to know that my date with Jimmy was all real, and not just a dream. Jimmy looked so peaceful sleeping, so I just closed my
eyes and tried to go back to sleep. About two minutes later, Jimmy woke up. “Good morning, sweetheart. How did you sleep?” I could have died just after hearing that. I smiled and put my arm around him. “Fantastic. I’m your sweetheart now?”
“Well, yeah. I just thought after what happened last night, you would be fine with me calling you my girlfriend. Is that okay?” I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. “Of course it is. It’s just, I’ve never had a boyfriend before, and I’m a little nervous. But yes, I’d love to be your girlfriend, Jimmy.” I kissed Jimmy and got out of bed. “Now, I have to go back to my apartment. Remember, we have our first day at SNL today, so don’t be late. I’ll see you there.” I walked out of Jimmy’s bedroom, but paused shortly outside his door. I quickly popped my head back in the doorway and blew him a kiss. With a flip of my hair, I walked down the hall back to my apartment to get ready for work.
When I got to work, I saw the rest of the cast in the writers’ room. I saw the other new cast members, so I thought now would be the time to introduce myself. “Um, hey, guys, I saw you at the meeting Saturday, but I didn’t get to say anything. Sara Szymkowski, your new co-star.” I felt much more confident in this studio, or honestly, anywhere, than I had two days ago. Maybe a lot more good would come from this relationship than I expected. The taller one shook my hand first. Oh, hi, Sara. I’m Chris Parnell, and this is Horatio Sanz.” Horatio smiled at me. I waved like we were good friends. “Hey, Horatio. So, are you guys excited for Saturday, or what?! I can’t believe I’m going to meet Cameron Diaz!” Horatio answered me. “I’m excited, too, but, you know, I’m a little nervous. I mean, this is Saturday Night Live. I grew up watching this show. And now, I’m finally on it. It’s kind of nerve-wracking.” Chris nodded in agreement. I used some of my new-found confidence to console my new-found friends. “Trust me, you’ll be fine. As long as you keep a straight face, you’ll be fine. Just breathe.” Chris seemed to like my advice. “Thanks. Hey, have you met the last part of our little group here? Name’s Jimmy Fallon.” Wow. I can’t believe I hadn’t already learned Jimmy’s last name yet. I know it was more like something a 15-year-old girl would do than a 23-year-old, but I briefly thought about how nice Sara Fallon sounded…
I forgot that I still hadn’t answered Chris’s question. “Oh, yeah. I actually know Jimmy a little more than you guys think.” What was I doing? These guys were obviously friends with Jimmy, and they would probably tell him that I told them that we were dating. Chris looked curious. “What do you mean?” I quickly thought of a good cover-up. “Oh, I just meant that on Saturday, we found out we live down the hall from each other in our apartment building. It’s nothing.
Suddenly, Jimmy walked into the writers’ room and walked directly to me and the guys. He hugged me and shook Chris and Horatio’s hands. “Hey, guys. Hi, Sara. There was a lot of traffic on the way here. Am I late?” I loved how nervous Jimmy was about being late for work. I then realized that I was the lucky girl who got to spend 6 days a week with him. I smiled and hugged him back. “Hey, Jimmy! Don’t worry, you’re not late. It turns out everyone showed up early, because they wanted to get a head start on the new season. Cameron Diaz isn’t here yet, and we can’t really start without her.” Jimmy looked shocked at the amount of information I had learned on the first day. Chris turned to Jimmy and gave him a quick wave. “Hey, Jimmy, do you think Horatio and I could meet your new girlfriend sometime?” Jimmy and I exchanged glances, and started laughing. Horatio and Chris looked at us like we were insane. “What? What’s so funny?” Jimmy motioned for me to answer their question. “Gentlemen, I give you Jimmy’s new girlfriend.” The way I said it made it sounded like I was proud of dating Jimmy. Which was good, because I was. I was also very flattered that Jimmy already told Chris and Horatio about our relationship. Horatio said something about Jimmy not telling him that I was the one he was dating, but I didn’t really listen. I was just thinking about Jimmy, and how truly incredible he was.
Suddenly, Lorne walked over to the four of us. “Hey, just so you guys know, your dressing rooms are down that hallway to the right. Just find the one with your name on it.” Lorne smiled and walked away. We all glanced at each other excitedly before making a beeline for the dressing rooms. They were in alphabetical order, with Jimmy’s dressing room first. I couldn’t help but stare at the door’s metal plate that read, “SNL Dressing Room #1: Jimmy Fallon” It looked so professional, and official. I gave Jimmy a smile that said, “We made it”. He gave me a playful look and bit his lip. “Are you ready?” I could barely contain my excitement. “As ready as I’ll ever be.” Jimmy opened the door and we stepped inside. At one wall there was a small white table and a chair with a mirror illuminated with large frosted lights around it. next to the table was some type of houseplant, and next to that was a television to keep track of when you had to get ready for the next sketch. On the other side of the room, there was a white couch with some old photos of Rockefeller Center hung above it. It was, without a doubt, the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. I had waited my whole life for this. I loved it. “Jimmy, this is so awesome! Even the door is amazing! Have you ever, in your wildest dreams, thought you would ever get your name bolted onto a door?” I walked over to Jimmy and put my arm around him. He sighed and sat down on the couch. “You know what the best part of this job is?”
“I don’t know, what is it?”
“I get to spend every day with you. And on Sundays when we have off, we can go out to eat, see a movie, or just stay in. Doesn’t that sound nice?” I had never met a guy who cared about me this much. Seeing him light up when he saw me made my heart skip a beat. The thought of spending every day with him was wonderful. I took a seat on the couch next to him. “That sounds perfect. Hey, just out of curiosity, when’s your birthday?” I was hoping it wasn’t too close, so I had time to set up a really nice date for him. Jimmy chuckled. “Next Wednesday, why? Were you planning on getting me a gift?” I paused, and began to think about my options. What could a girl get her brand-new boyfriend, who she barely knew anything about, as a last minute birthday gift? I decide not to worry about it too much. I just grinned at Jimmy. “I don’t know. Maybe I might have something in mind. How about this; on Wednesday night, come over to my apartment at 8:00, and that’s all you really need to know right now.”
“OK then, it’s a date.” I walked out of Jimmy’s dressing room and down the hall to mine. As I expected, It was pretty much a carbon copy of Jimmy’s dressing room, and probably everyone else’s. I still loved it. I sat down and began to think about what I was going to do for Jimmy’s birthday.
Jimmy and I both were completely aware that he was hosting SNL the next weekend… I could really tell nerves were getting the best of him and the rest of our little trip was fun, but he seemed really anxious the entire time.
After a week of fun and love, Jimmy and I took a plane ride back to The City.
We got into his car and the driver began to drive us to my apartment.
“You okay?” I looked over at Jimmy who was staring out the window.
He looked down at his lap and then over at me.
“Yeah… I’m ok. Why?”
It was really the first time I’d ever seem him anything but happy.
“You just seem… A little… I don’t know.”
He unbuckled his seatbelt and slid closer to me.
“I want you to be backstage the entire time during SNL.” He looked at me seriously, yet desperately.
“What..?” He put his hand in mine and held it tight.
“I- I need you there.”
That’s all he had to say.
I leaned into his chest and he rested his chin on my head.
“Thank you..” He whispered to me.
The Night of SNL
All week, Jimmy became less anxious and nervous about the show and more and more excited.
I sat with him backstage while they were doing some final touches on his makeup. As far as they were concerned, I was his new assistant.
“Ok! All done! Next you’ll need to get into your costume, and you’ll be set!” The woman who was doing his makeup walked out of the room and left us alone.
He looked over at me and smiled.
“Are you ready?” I stood up and walked towards him. He looked up at me from the chair and placed his hands on my waist.
“Thanks so much for being here. I couldn’t have done it without you here with me.” I ran my fingers through his hair and we heard the door open.
He immediately took his hands off of me and I stepped away from him.
I turned around and the woman looked at us.
“Umm… Mr. Fallon, your costume is ready.” He stood up and walked around me. He left the room and I walked over to the couch and grabbed my purse.
I walked into the hallway and looked around.
I found my way to a door that said- “FALLON”
I heard Jimmy talking in there and I listened.
“Hi sweetheart!! Daddy misses you! So so so much…I’ll be home soon, ok? Let me talk to Mommy…….. I’ll call you later, ok Nance?…. No. I don’t want to talk about this right now…. This is my night and you’re not going to do this to me right now.. Bye!”
I stepped away from the door and I felt really sad. He missed Winnie… She probably could have been here if I wasn’t in his life. Maybe he would be more happy… Tears started to form in my eyes and I heard his door open. I quickly wiped my eyes.
I looked up and saw Jimmy standing in front of me in a ginormous gift bag costume and he was smiling a huge smile.
“Haha oh my gosh! Hold on!” I pulled out my phone and pulled up the camera. “Smile!”
He stuck his arms out and I took a picture of him.
“Adorable…” I said to myself.
“I think you’re adorable…” He reached his glove-covered hands up to my face and then patted my head.
I laughed and just looked up at him.
“SHOW TIME, Mr. Fallon!”
A crew member appeared in the hallway and Jimmy grabbed my hand and pulled me. We walked down the hallway and people were looking at us weirdly. I tried to pull my hand out of his glove-covered hand but he would just pull me closer and hold it tighter.
I looked up at him and just gazed at him.
He was so perfect. His hair was perfect and his smile..
He glanced down at me but then looked back up to the hallway. He smiled and giggled a little.
We finally got to backstage and some people started talking to Jimmy about a variety of things.
I tried to walk away and give them privacy but every time I’d try and let go, he’d give me a look, and pull me closer.
“OKAY! Showtime in one minute!” Was called from somewhere in the studio. Jimmy and I walked over to where he would wait until they’d cue him on stage.
“You ready?” He finally let go of my hand and smiled at me.
“I’m so ready.”
“You’re going to do so great, babe..” I could tell that what I had said bit the last bit of nerves he had in the butt. He was so energetic now.
Jimmy began to jump up and down and we counted down.
He leaned over and kissed me. I quickly felt his hair one last time and he kissed me again and again. I was so nervous about everything and him kissing me just made me feel so much better. As he was about to deepen the kiss I heard someone say,
“COME ON JIMMY!” The person pulled him off of me and he was immediately thrown on stage.
I took a deep breath and laughed out loud.
The rest of SNL was just completely amazing. I’ve never had the opportunity to experience something as amazing as it and I was so grateful.
After the goodbyes, I waited in Jimmy’s dressing room while he got dressed.
“What was your favorite skit!?” I heard him say from the closet.
“Umm… I loved all of them but… Definitely the Celebrity Feud one. Justin did a fantastic job as you!” I giggled.
“Yeah.. Do I really talk like that?” He came out of the closet in the Roots christmas sweater he was wearing earlier.
“Haha, well.. Maybe sometimes but the hand gestures Justin did were spot on.”
“Yeah… I guess!” He laughed. “Ugh I’m kind of mad that I broke character in that scene! I promised myself I wouldn’t but.. Ugh! Dammit Justin!” He laughed and I smiled at him. He walked into the bathroom and I sat there just looking around.
His phone buzzed on the table next to me.
“What does it say?” He yelled from the bathroom.
“Umm..” I looked over at it. It said-
Justin: I wanna meet her dude! I’m coming to your dressing room now.
Was he talking about me?
“Uh.. Justin said that he wants to meet “her” and that he’s coming to your dressing room now..”
He walked out of the bathroom and had a huge smile on his face.
“Soo… I kind of told him about you…” He walked over to me and planted a kiss on my cheek. I brought my hand up to his neck.
“Please don’t be mad! I just had to tell him. He’s one of my best friends and besides, he was suspicious that I liked someone.. I couldn’t keep it in.”
It was really cute seeing Jimmy like this… There was a knock at the door and Jimmy ran over to it. He opened it and I heard Justin’s voice on the other side. I’d never met him before but I loved his music.
Him and Jimmy walked into the room and I stood up from the couch.
“Is this the girl?!” Justin ran over to me and smiled.
“Yeah man, isn’t she gorgeous?” Jimmy said from behind him. I blushed.
“Of course she is..” He was standing in front of me and I just stared into his beautiful blue eyes. Wow…
“It’s great to meet you…” I stuck my hand out and he proudly shook it.
“The pleasure is all mine..”
“I love your song- Mirrors.. It’s really beautiful and isn’t so homogenized like other artists songs.. and there’s not a lot of variety in today’s music. That’s why I have a hard time listening to the radio…” Jimmy and Justin both looked at me in awe. “The melody is really great and I hate that they cut out the ending for the radio version. The song isn’t complete without it….” I was rambling… “In my opinion…” I added.
I looked up at them and they both looked shocked. “I’m sorry. I’m talking too much…” I blushed and ran my fingers through my hair.
“I had no idea you knew that much about music…” Jimmy laughed and looked at Justin.
“Dude I love her!” Justin squealed. He wrapped his arms around my neck and gave me a tight hug. I laughed and hugged him back.
He let go of me and just stared at me. Our eye contact never broke and I eventually smiled and looked down at the ground.
“I’m sorry…What’s your name again.?”
I looked back up at him.
“Scar…” I heard Jimmy whisper. Justin turned around and laughed.
“Wow dude.. Are you obsessed with her enough yet?” He wrapped his arm around his neck and Jimmy continued to look at me. Justin looked at him in a weird way and then looked over at me.
“Hey, can I talk to you for a sec, man?” He pulled Jimmy into the hallway and they closed the door behind them.
I knew I shouldn’t listen but god I couldn’t help it. I walked over to the door and I heard Jimmy talking.
“Dude… Why does this bother you so much?”
“Because I know you love Nancy, hell, I love Nance… You have to remember that you have a wonderful loving family at home waiting for you every night.. Are you not happy enough?” Wow.. Justin was really upset.
“You know how much I respect and care for Nancy, and Winnie is my world… But.. I don’t think you understand. I’m in love with her. Do you not like her or something? What’s wrong with you?”
There was a silence and I backed away from the door.
I went and sat at the couch that I was sitting on earlier. I went on my phone and texted Carol if she wanted to go for drinks tonight and just waited for Jimmy to come back in.
Eventually, the door opened and only Justin came into the room.
“Oh, hi!” I put my phone down and looked up at him.
He walked over to the couch and sat next to me. “Is everything ok?” I asked.
He smelled really good..
“Yeah, everything’s great. Can I talk to you about something?”
He looked super serious which was strange.
His blue eyes met mine and he fidgeted with his hands.
“So, you know that Mr. James is married right?”
I laughed at what he called Jimmy but then stopped.
“Yeah, I do..”
“Ok, listen.. I’ve known Jimmy for quite some time and I’ve also known Nancy for a while. He loves Nancy, he really does. But I’ve never seen him like this. I’ve never seen him look at Nancy the way he looks at you. He really, truly, is deeply in love with you…” He scratched his neck. “I’m just letting you know, incase you didn’t already.”
“Oh… Well, I feel the exact same way.”
“Well… I love Jimmy and his family so I’m not exactly happy that he’s cheating on his wife, but he couldn’t have picked a better girl.”
I blushed and smiled.
“Well.. Thank you?”
“No problem.. Maybe we should get to know each other better, since you are dating my best friend..” He giggled.
“Actually, I’m performing in Brooklyn in a few weeks, have Jimmy bring you to the show, ok? We could all go to dinner after and maybe Jessica could come! Just a big double date!”
He really was a super nice guy. Like, genuinely nice.
Jimmy entered the room and could tell we were having a serious conversation.
“Oh, did I interrupt something?”
Justin stood up and walked to him.
“Nah, man. Just talking.” He looked at me and smiled. “Bring her to my show, ok?”
“Yes sir.” Jimmy patted his arm and they hugged.
They were both so cute.
“I’ll see you later,
Pal.” Jimmy opened the door for Justin and he turned around one last time and winked at me.
“I’ll see you soon.”
He walked out the room and Jimmy closed the door behind him and walked over to me.
He sat down on the couch and looked at me.
“You wanna go home?” He wrapped his arm around me.
“Yeah.” I smiled and looked up at him.
His lips touched mine and I felt so at home already.
We kissed a few times then I pulled away.
I looked up at his hair and smiled.
“What?” He laughed.
“Gosh, I just love your hair..” I ran my hands through his perfectly placed hair and his eyes just stared into mine.
“Well I just love you.” He was truly a romantic.
“There’s a possibility that I love your hair more than I love you.” I laughed and so did he.
“Let’s go, kid.” He pulled me off the couch and we walked hand-in-hand to his car.
Previous: Chapter 1
I woke up on Sunday morning with a smile on my face. I was the happiest girl in the world. I was living in the best city in the world, I finally had my dream job, and, I was pretty sure I had just fallen in love yesterday. Wait. Yesterday. I was supposed to go to lunch with Jimmy today! I literally jumped out of my bed and into the kitchen.
It was already 11:15. I didn’t know what Jimmy’s idea of lunch was, but I thought noon made enough sense. I debated eating breakfast. If I ate, then I wouldn’t be hungry later, and Jimmy would know that I stay up late watching TV every night like a loser. However, if I skipped breakfast, then I’d probably lose all self-control and eat everything on the table, and Jimmy would think that’s how I always am. After ten minutes, I decide to just drink some coffee to hold myself over. I checked the clock again. 11:30. I only had a half hour to get ready, which meant I had better change quickly. I rushed to my closet and slipped on my favorite 1970’s Queen t-shirt and a pair of blue jeans. I figured I didn’t have to dress up, since it was Sunday, and it was only lunch. I put on my makeup and walked out the door at 12:00.
I walked down the hall way to Jimmy’s apartment. I took a deep breath, and knocked on the door. Less than two seconds later, Jimmy answered the door with a bouquet of a dozen roses. “Hey, Sara! I was just about to walk down to your apartment, but I guess you beat me to it. I picked you up some flowers.” He smiled at me again. He had the cutest smile in the world. I was so surprised by the roses. No guy had ever gone out of his way to be this nice to me after just one day of knowing me. Hell, no guy had been this nice to me ever. My friends always teased me because, at age 23, I still hadn’t even kissed anyone. I was a huge nerd in grade school, and I put my head down and focused on my grades in high school and college. I just stood there and smiled. “Thanks so much, Jimmy. This is just really sweet. Thank you.”
"Oh, it was nothing. Just a little gift. I’ll just leave them right here, and you can pick them up later. Now, let’s go. I know this great place where we can go."
Jimmy took me to this small restaurant that had a very homey feel to it. In fact, the owner and his family lived on the second floor. Neither of us ate very much, because we just talked and laughed the whole time. “So, how long have you lived in New York? I just came here from LA, I was with the Groundlings for a while.”
"I’d say, about a year and a half now. They recruited me from the UCB theater. What’s it like in California?"
"It is really hot. There were some times where I just couldn’t take it. Way too hot for me."
"Oh, I’m sure it would be a nightmare for me. I grew up in Buffalo, I’m used to a little cold now and then. I’d die in LA. But, of course, if you asked someone from LA, they’d probably compare Buffalo to the South Pole."
"Yeah, that’s true. So, I guess, the moral of the story is, never leave home."
I laughed way harder than I should have at that joke. Although, I don’t think Jimmy minded. He seemed to be really happy that we got together. I thought back to earlier that morning, when I was so happy about everything that had happened the day before. And this time, I wasn’t pretty sure. I knew for a fact that I was in love with Jimmy. In all this thought, I just kept smiling at him, and he kept smiling at me. There was a question that I kept avoiding, and I knew I had to ask it sooner or later.
"So, the flowers, this great lunch, everything, what is it? Is this just lunch with a co-star, or do you think this is a date?" I sat with a blank look on my face, waiting for an answer.
Jimmy looked worried, like he thought I wasn’t enjoying myself. “Um, well, I hope I’m not coming on too strong, but I just assumed you thought it was a date. Is that okay?”
I slowly started to smile again. “Yeah, that’s just perfect. The two of us on a date together. I like that.”
"Oh, great. You had me scared there for a moment. I thought you, you know, weren’t interested. Hey, you know what? You won’t pay for anything. This is my treat. And how about after this, we just take a walk in Central Park together?"
Only Jimmy could do that. Only Jimmy could go from being super nervous and not even knowing whether or not his date is interested, to becoming the most charming guy in the world. I added that to my mental list of things I loved about him. I nodded my head and winked.
It was late, and Jimmy and I had just come back from our walk in Central Park. I was about to step into my apartment, when Jimmy stopped me. “Wait, Sara, I left your roses on my table. Do you want to drop in and pick them up?”
"Sure. I’d love to see your place." I walked into Jimmy’s apartment. It was so similar to mine, but yet, so much more beautiful. I didn’t want to leave just yet, and I could tell Jimmy didn’t want me to leave, either.
"Hey, it’s late, why don’t you sit down and relax a little while?"
"Okay, I guess I could stay." I sat down on the couch as close to Jimmy as I could possibly get.
"You know, I’ve been wondering what you look like without your glasses. Do you mind if I find out?" I just nodded. I couldn’t say anything. He carefully removed my glasses and placed them on the end table. He then opened his mouth like he was going to say something, but he stopped himself. Instead, Jimmy leaned into me and our lips met. I wrapped my arms around Jimmy as he gently placed his hands on my neck. He pulled away and stood up, lifting me up with him. Jimmy smiled and whispered, "Follow me." He grabbed me by the wrist and led me into his bedroom. We both threw ourselves down on the bed. Jimmy kissed my neck and pressed himself against me. I knew where this was going to go next, and honestly, I was excited. However, my body was fighting me. I was absolutely exhausted. Jimmy, being the sweetheart that he was, took notice. "Okay, Sara. I’ll let you sleep. Good night." Jimmy kissed my forehead and pulled the sheets over the both of us. I drifted off to sleep feeling happier than I ever had before.
Previous: Chapter 26
Or Start From the Beginning
Tears rolled over the brims of my eyes steadily as time seemingly stopped. The same feeling I had when I first met Jimmy overtook my body. Flashbacks of meeting him flew through my mind. The chill of studio 6B, Jimmy’s warm, firm hug, the faintness… It was all rushing back to me. As I looked down into the man I loved eyes, I realized what was happening. Once I processed the fact Jimmy was proposing, I gained enough sense to throw a few words into the air. Those words I spoke to him and the other 5,000 people in the room I’m unsure of. But I do know that whatever I said must’ve been beneficial for both me and Jimmy. He put the cold ring on my shaky left hand and stood up, towering over me. The crowd was roaring but my ears tuned them out. I was focused. “I love you.” His hands reached for my face and pulled me into him. Nothing mattered anymore. We stood on the stage, pressed together, until Justin made his way back to the podium and announced, “Hey buddy! Congrats!” The audience again gave an encouraging round of applause. Jimmy held my now-heavy left hand in his and shook Justin’s with his right. “Thanks, man! I appreciate it.” Jimmy took the Emmy and held it up while speaking into the microphone. “I’d like to thank all of these amazing people behind me. Without these writers and producers, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Only positive things are to come in the near future and I thank all of the fans and supporters of us out there. Thank you, mom and dad, for raising me as the ‘weird Fallon kid’ who played basketball in the grass within the boundaries of our fenced in yard.” Jimmy chuckled a bit and looked at the ground. “And this woman right here, not only is she my fiance, she’s also one of the hardest working people I know. So once again, thank you. We’re all truly blessed.” He looked to me and wrapped one arm around my waist and escorted me to our seats. The rest of the ceremony was a total distortion. We pretty much stole the show.
As we made our way back outside to the red carpet for pictures and interviews which we would be bombarded with, Jimmy whispered in my ear, “You ever been to an Emmy’s after party?” He did an adorably sexy little lick of his lips and winked. What was that supposed to mean? I gave him a slight nod as we exited the building. As I had imagined, we were blinded with flashing lights. People called our names asking us questions. Jimmy gave a few yes’s and a few no’s. We walked with our heads down to the more populated side of the carpet where the interviews that would actually air on television took place. Ryan Seacrest approached us with a microphone in hand. “Hey man! Congratulations! This is huge!” Jimmy shrugged and squeezed my hand as he looked at the ground, smiling. “Hey, thanks Ryan. I couldn’t be happier right now.” He looked to me and gave me a warm peck on the cheek. I blushed in return. “Do you have a date in mind yet?” Ryan looked from me to Jimmy. “Um, not yet. No. We will get it figured out.” “Well, once again congrats you two. I wish you the best.” Their hands met and Ryan gave me a peck on the top of mine. Our limo pulled up just as we made it to the curb. Jimmy opened my door and walked to his side of the vehicle. Just as we were about to pull away, the door closest to me flew open. I assumed it was going to be just another persistent paparazzi. I was way off. Plumped down next to me was Justin Timberlake. I had met him briefly on stage but that was wiped from my memory. I was once again starstruck; not that it took much but that’s beside the point. Jimmy introduced me as he noticed I was incapable of speaking. Justin said, “Hey! I’ve heard so many great things about you. It’s so nice to finally put a name to a face.” I looked to Jimmy who was glaring out the window. He looked over to me and scooted closer. They conversed with each other like old buddies would until our limo reached the hall the after party was being held in. Justin held the door for me and we walked as a trio up to the steps, uninterrupted by cameramen. Justin held the door for us and we stepped inside. The lights were dim and music drowned our ears as we made our way deeper into the crowd of celebrities. Greeted by a scrawny young man with a tray of shots, Jimmy grabbed two and passed one on to me. He turned to me holding his glass in the air. “To us. To happiness. To love.” I raised mine in return and we officiated the toast with a clink. “Cheers.” He bent down to bring his liquor scented breath to my lips. As the party went on, I was introduced to a variety of talented people. First was Kels… I mean Ashton Kutcher. I had watched That 70’s Show every night religiously as a child so meeting Kutcher was huge. Next I was introduced to Conan O’Brien. Jimmy and Conan always had seemed to have a rivalry when put together on television. I figured they just did that for show but I was mistaken. The fact that Conan was uncomprehendably drunk didn’t help. As soon as the awkward exchange of what I believe was a “congratulations” was over, Jimmy leaned into my ear and groaned, “Ugh, I cannot stand that guy.” I was truly shocked to hear that from Jimmy. There had to be a great story behind that one. I brushed it off and returned to dancing close to him. The further into the night we made it, the blurrier my vision became. Whenever I thought I was done drinking, Jimmy would be right there with another fruity cocktail. By 4 in the morning, the crowd had died down and people were starting to make their way home. Jimmy and I made our way through the back door, both of us stumbling. He hailed a cab and we were to the apartment in a matter of what seemed what minutes. As he reached the door, his keys fumbled around in his hands and he looked up at me and grinned. We were all over each other before we even had time to make it to the bedroom. We settled for the living room floor. I stood pressed against him and he looked down into my eyes. “I love you so much, Katie.” I stood on my tip toes and placed a deep kiss on his warm, soft lips. The next thing I knew, he was undressing himself on top of me. I attempted to help him but struggled with the button on his dress pants. He, at the same time, struggled with the back of my dress. Frustrated, Jimmy ripped the fabric. “Oh my go…” He cut me off with his lips. In between kissed he breathed, “I’ll buy you a new one.” Both of us clothed in only a blanket he grabbed off the couch, Jimmy lifted me off the floor and carried me to the bed. Still straddling him, he laid me down on the bed and kissed my neck, moving down to my weak spot. Time passed until I couldn’t take it any longer and I pulled him back up to me. I ran my fingers through his hair as the intimacy intensified. The pace was slow at first but sped up as I asked for more. His hands embraced my face and his kissed my neck as both our bodies gave out. We laid there staring into each other’s eyes. I knew from the moment I first talked to Jimmy that there was something there, a spark. That spark was lit and spread. That spark spread like a wild fire and it led us to where we are today. Lying in bed, half drunk and engaged. I wouldn’t want it any other way. I allowed my eyes to close and drifted off into a world half as great as the one I was living in.
I sat in my chair, trembling. I was as nervous as I had ever been in my entire life. Why? I had just auditioned for Saturday Night Live. Of course they were going in alphabetical order, and of course, I was put last. You’re never first when your name is Szymkowski. Jesus, that was a mouthful. By this point, I was practically vibrating.
A man walked in to the room where we were all sitting. After giving us some reassuring looks, he finally spoke. “When I call your name, follow me into the next room. If I don’t call your name, I’m sorry, you didn’t get the job.” He called four names, once again, in alphabetical order. The first three were a total blur, but the last one was as clear as day. “Sara Szymkowski.” I hated that name. It was so cheesy of my parents to give me an alliteration for a name. Nevertheless, it was mine, and it was called. I had gotten the job. I was a featured cast member on the show I had been watching forever. I tried to hide my excitement as the four of us entered the next room.
The room, as I soon realized, was Lorne’s office. Before he said anything, I looked over at my three new coworkers. To my left was an overweight Hispanic man. He looked like someone who could turn out to be a good friend of mine. The other was a man who, although nice enough, really looked like more of a businessman than a comedian. Nothing was really out of the ordinary with either of them. Then I looked at the guy to my right. He had glimmering brown eyes, messy brown hair, and a perfect smile, which he flashed nervously at me. Under any other circumstances, I would have thought he liked me. But this was more of an “Are you as nervous as I am?” smile than a “Hey, let’s go out sometime” smile. Responding to his question, I smiled back at him, and nodded.
Lorne gave some long speech about how much work this would be, and we wouldn’t be in a lot of sketches, just so we wouldn’t feel under pressure. I barely paid attention to him. Now I had two reasons to be nervous. First, I found out I just became a cast member on my favorite show at age 23, and then I see this incredibly cute guy standing right next to me, AND he’s going to be working with me!
Lorne finally dismissed us, so I figured that now was the time to make my move. I walked up to him as we were all getting our things, and I smiled. This time, I was giving him a “Hey, let’s go out sometime” smile. “Hi. As you probably know already, I’m Sara,” I laughed. “I was so nervous before, that I didn’t hear anyone’s name but my own.” I stuck out my hand. He reached out and shook my hand. “Well, I wasn’t paying attention, either, so I’m glad you introduced yourself. Hi, Sara, I’m Jimmy.” Jimmy. That was his name. Such a perfect name. I’m sure Jimmy’s parents actually put some thought into naming their son. I just loved it. I looked at my watch. “We should probably get going. Let’s talk in the elevator.” Jimmy agreed, and we walked down together. “So, where do you live?” “I live at 16th Avenue Apartments,” I told him. He looked shocked. “No way! That’s where I live!” Jimmy hailed a cab and we walked to our apartments. Before I unlocked my door, Jimmy said, “I’ve had fun. Listen, I know this is really soon, but do you want to go out for lunch on Sunday?” I smiled. “That sounds great. I’ll see you there.”
Jimmy and I got dressed and ate a quick breakfast.
We left our little cabin and as Jimmy was locking the door I just breathed in the crisp, cold air. I felt his hand on my side and he pulled me close to him.
“Let’s go!” He held me and we walked down the dirt road.
“Have you ever been here?” I looked up at him.
“I have! Back when I was on tour I came to Denver.”
We kept walking and I looked down at my shoes.
“Why did you stop?”
“Well, I have Late Night now! But I’d really love to tour again but I’m just kind of… I don’t know.” He shrugged.
“Kind of what?” I stopped walking and looked up at him.
“I’m just…” He laughed. “Why are you so curious?” We continued walking.
“I just like learning new things about you.” I blushed.
I felt him lean down and kiss my head.
“So? You’re just what?” He stopped walking and looked at me.
“I don’t know, Scar. I’m just kind of scared that everyone kind of forgot about me. I don’t think anyone would buy the tickets…”
I could tell that he was scared. Even though he was a man, he had little boy qualities. He was terrified.
I wrapped my arms around his waist and looked up at him.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, you would sell out stadiums!” He gave me a smirk. “But if it makes you feel better, if you came to my city, I’d buy a ticket…” I smiled.
“You’re too cute.” He tapped my nose and leaned down and kissed me. I brought my hands up to his hair and I felt him smile.
“You know,” he said while still kissing me. “I kind of wanna go on tour now… Knowing you’ll be in the audience…”
We ended up walking around and just exploring. We found a little restaurant and decided to have lunch.
“Just two?” The hostess grabbed two menus.
“Yep!” Jimmy smiled her. The girl blushed and looked him up and down. It was obvious she was checking him out. He looked at me and smiled.
We walked to our booth and I sat down on one side. The hostess put one menu on each side but Jimmy slid down into the same booth with me. She looked at me and rolled her eyes. She picked up the menu again and set it in front of him.
“Have a good lunch…”
She walked off.
“Oh my god did you see her?”
I laughed and picked up my menu. Jimmy put his arm around me.
“Yeah, she’s just jealous because you’re ten times prettier than her.”
“Haha, no.. She blushed from head to toe when you smiled at her! You just have that effect on women.”
“Oh stop it.. I so do not.”
“You so do! Every girl that meets you is just swooned by you!” I poked him in the ribs.
“Does it bother you?” He looked serious.
“Haha are you joki-?”
“I’m being serious! Did she bother you?” He pointed at the hostess. I ran my fingers through my hair and exhaled.
I was a little bothered by it all…
“A little, it’s not that big of a deal Jimmy…”
“No… If it bothered you I wanna know why!”
Was this a fight? I set down my menu.
“Jimmy! It’s nothing.. Don’t worry about it.” I rested my hand on is chest.
He slid out of the booth and stood up.
“Jimmy!!!” He ran over to the hostess and started to say something to her. I covered my face with my hands.
What was he doing?!
She looked over and me and then looked back at him. He patted her on her shoulder and she smirked at him. He turned around and walked back over to me. I turned away from him and my back was now to him.
I felt him sit down and I just felt weird.
We sat there for a few minutes, just ignoring each other when I finally said,
“Yes! It bothers me a lot..” I turned around. “And the reason why it bothered me is because you could have any girl! And why would you choose…” I turned around and faced him fully. His sweet eyes made contact with mine and I suddenly realized that I was completely out I line. “Sorry..” I sinked down in my chair.
“No.. Don’t be sorry.” He wrapped both his arms around me and pulled me into his chest. “I’m sorry it upset you.”
“No, stop. You’re like, quite honestly, the sexiest guy I’ve ever seen. It shouldn’t bother me… But it does.”
“Well thank you. And another thing… I don’t want just any girl….” He didn’t have to finish what he was saying. He was such a romantic. “And don’t think I can just get any girl I want! I didn’t think you’d ever like me… I didn’t think I had any chance with you.”
The waiter came to our table and looked at us.
“Well, look at you! You guys are a cute couple!!”
That’s the first time we’d ever been called a couple… I liked it.
“Thank you sir!” Jimmy smiled at him.
“Hey, aren’t you that guy who hosts that night show?” I laughed.
“Yes, yes I am.”
“Sweet! I’m sorry… I’m kind of rambling. What would y’all like?”
We ordered our food and ate. We left the restaurant and headed back to our little cabin.
Jimmy opened the door and I stepped through. I walked into the living room and took off my coat. I heard the door close and footsteps came from behind me.
I felt Jimmy’s lips on my neck and I smiled. I turned around and he pulled away and smiled at me.
“Here’s a little question.” I wrapped my arms around his neck. “At the restaurant, the waiter called us a couple… Are we?”
I felt his hands hold on to my waist tighter and he smiled.
“If you’re in, I’m in.”
“Okay then!” I felt so happy. “So like a secret couple?”
Me nodded his head.
“Wanna play a game?” Wow, that changed quickly… His eyes sparkled.
I nodded my head and he brought me over to the couch.
He took off his coat and sat down next to me.
“Okay. So, you’re going to tell me something about you then I’ll tell you something about me.”
“Umm.. Ok! I thought this was a game..”
“It is! Just wait and see.”
We talked for about an hour just about everything I could think of.
He told me all of his favorite movies all the way to why he doesn’t like mayonnaise.
In the end, I found out so many things about him I never even knew. It was so great.
“So what’s the game?” Jimmy grinned.
“There really was no game, let’s just ask each other interesting questions.”
“Okay… You start.” I giggled.
“Okay! Let’s see…” He thought for a second then looked at me.
“How many guys have you kissed?”
Jeez, really Jimmy?
“Umm… Two. Including you.” His eyes widened and he looked at me in disbelief.
“No way.. I don’t believe that.” He laughed.
“No.. It’s true.” I blushed.
“Wait, how is that true? You only kissed one guy before me?!”
“Well,” I crossed my legs. ” I went to an all girls high school and then ended up going to an all girls college. We never really were around guys.”
“Oooh.. That’s why you’re so smart.
So… You’re turn.”
“How about you? How many girls have you kissed?”
“A lot… With SNL and everything, I’ve kissed a lot of people. Hell, I’ve probably kissed Rachel Dratch more than I’ve kissed anyone else..” He laughed and I did too.
His smile is so contagious. “God, I still can’t believe you’ve only kissed two guys. I can’t wrap my head around that… And I had the pleasure of being one of them…” He leaned over and pressed his lips to mine.
His hand wrapped around my neck.
He sat closer to me and looked me in the eyes.
“Well, you’re a damn good kisser, that’s for sure.” He gave me short small kisses.
In that moment, I realized I was falling in love with him. I wanted to tell him but I didn’t think he felt the same way.
I was so comfortable around him and I’ve never felt that with anyone else.
We kissed more and more until I heard him say it.
“I think I love you.” He whispered close to my lips.
I couldn’t believe it. He loved me?
He pulled away from me and looked at me so perfectly. “I know.. I’ve only known you for a few weeks.. But honestly, you’re just the most amazing person I’ve ever met… I knew it from the moment I met you that I loved you, it just took a while for me to fully understand why. I don’t expect you to say it back but-“
I surprised myself. “I do. I love you.”
A huge smile slowly formed on his face and he kissed me again, this time, with a more special meaning.
God I just loved kissing him.
I just loved him…
It was late and Jimmy and I were both getting ready for bed. I ran into the bedroom to put on my pj’s.
I had some shorts and a tank that were comfy enough. I threw them on and then put my hair in a bun.
I went back into the bathroom and Jimmy was brushing his teeth he smiled at me and leaned over and spit the toothpaste out of his mouth.
"Well…" He spit again. "Look who is adorable!" I smiled and brushed my teeth too. He finished getting ready for bed before me. As I was washing my face I felt his hands on my waist and he leaned down and kissed me on my shoulder.
He went into the bedroom and sat at the end of the bed and looked down at his phone.
I finished getting ready and looked at myself in the mirror.
"Remember this moment. You’re truly happy right now." I thought to myself.
I turned off the light and walked into the bedroom. I walked over to Jimmy and he looked up at me and set his phone down. I reached and ran my fingers through his hair.
He put his hands on my waist and pulled me closer to him.
He spread his legs and pulled me in between them.
His hair was messy and he had a lazy look in his eyes.
I wanted him.
He reached his hands up to my cheeks and pulled my face into his. His lips felt so soft on mine.
He gave me multiple small kisses and I melted with every one of them. His lips parted and I tasted him.
My hands held onto his arms and he held my face.
He leaned back onto the bed and I fell on top of him.
His hands moved down to my legs and he pulled them up to him. I was now straddling him.
The kisses got deeper and deeper until he stopped and pulled away.
He looked me in the eyes.
"You’re so unbelievably beautiful."
His fingers ran through my long bangs and he smiled.
"You just make me so happy…" I smiled at him.
He reached up and kissed me again, this time, it felt more emotional. We kissed more and more until we were both underneath the sheets. He was on top of me and his hands moved up and down my body with ease. His touch was turning me on so much.
I don’t remember exactly what happened after this but I can for sure tell you that I was exhausted from the whole day and Jimmy and I both just fell asleep holding each other. No sex. Just wonderful intimacy.
I woke up the next morning and opened my eyes to see Jimmy looking back at me.
"Well hello there!" I reached up and rubbed my eyes. He kissed me on my nose and smiled.
"What do you want to do today, cutie?" He grinned at me and I rolled over on my side.
"Anything. You pick."
He thought about it for a second then smiled at me again.
"Well, if I picked, I would have you with me in bed all day…" He poked at my stomach and I giggled.
"Sounds good to me!" His eyes widened and he leaned into me and kissed my lips.
He pulled way but was still very close to my face. I could feel his breath on my cheek.
"But really… What do you wanna do?"
I felt his hair and smiled.
"Well, I’ve never really seen Colorado before. Maybe just wander around?"
"Sounds perfect." His soft lips grazed my lips. "Everything’s perfect with you." I felt so many butterflies In my stomach and I exhaled.
"Well then let’s go!" I pulled him by the shirt. He rolled on top of me and I rolled off the bed.
We both fell on to the floor with a loud thud.
We were both laughing.
"You ok?" He wrapped his hand around the back of my head and looked me in the eyes.
"Couldn’t be better."
